Mackenzie Rises to the Top!

A huge “congratulations” goes out to Coach O’Brien and the wrestling team for a fantastic season culminating in a trip to the Ontario finals (OFSSAA) where the boys team won the overall gold title and 3 individual gold medals were also earned. The Lyons roar!

Mackenzie students continue to show their excellence in independent competitions. At the University of Waterloo Mathematics competition, our grade nine students placed first in the GTA! The following chart shows our outstanding results:

  • Pascal (G.9) contest: GTA #1; Ontario #4; Canada #7. (94 students wrote)
  • Cayley (G.10) contest: GTA #7; Ontario #50; Canada #101 (30 students wrote)
  • Fermat (G. 11) contest: GTA #8; Ontario #48; Canada #96. (30 students wrote)

Our amazing Mathematics department has prepared our students for success!

Our Chess team also rose to the top in winning the Toronto North Region championship tournament. They are now going on to compete in the City finals. Good luck Mackenzie Lyons! A big thank you goes out to Ms. Teper for leading the team to greatness.
