Shawn Zevit
Rabbi, Spiritual Consultant and Performer/Composer

Rabbi Shawn Israel Zevit serves as a consultant for numerous organizations in the areas of leadership, community building, money and values, creativity, and spirituality in the workplace. He currently is a Senior Consultant and the Director of Outreach and Social Justice for the North American Jewish Reconstructionist Federation.

Rabbi Shawn Israel Zevit, has over 25 years experience in spiritual leadership, organizational consulting and training, educational arts, writing, recording, teaching and performing. He has consulted with over 500 institutions and faith communities across North America, and has taught Interpersonal and Organizational Communications at the University of Toronto and Temple University. He is a founding member of Shabbat Unplugged, and co-director of the award-winning and the Davennen Leader’s Training Institute for spiritual leaders that trains Canadian, American and world leaders. He has also served as presenter for the Canadian Spirituality & Work in Toronto, and taught for a decade at Gratz college’s “Melton Adult mini-school” in Philadelphia.

Along with serving as a congregational rabbi and consultant to churches, synagogues, non-profit and corporate organizations, and a spiritual director to many clergy, he performs concerts from his five CD’s of original music, including the award-winning "Generations" (2006).

Along with writing for numerous publications his book "Offerings of the Heart: Money and Values" was published in 2005, and he is the co-editor of an upcoming book on Men and Judaism.

Shawn has lived in Cleveland since January 2009 with his wife and step-son and reutrns to Toronto regularly for work and to visit family and friends.
